New Home Delivery Sales Coordinator, Jack Armstrong: Here to Help You Make More Money

He's a busy man, Jack Armstrong. Since coming to The Southern from the Marion Daily Republican in mid-March, he's been pulling long hours at work and at home-- all in an effort to help you make more money. As The Southern's new Home Delivery Sales Coordinator, he's charged with helping add customers and profits to your routes. Toward that end he's developing
marketing strategies, targeting new customers with exciting subscription premiums, and guiding The Southern's telemarketing staff as they call on potential customers each day and night.

Current subscription premiums and inducements include: collectible American Flag and Comic Strip umbrellas, movie ticket discounts offered in conjunction with the Kerasotes Theatres, and the Mega Millionaire Game. Jack says he's working on new promotions all the time. National holidays and the seasons provide inspiration and sales opportunities.

Recently Jack sent you a carrier survey which we urge you to fill out and return. Jack put it together and your feedback will help him help you. He figures you know your customers pretty well; you know what motivates them, how to approach them and when. Your feedback regarding premiums and sampling techniques is sure to prove crucial to future route growth for yourselves and for the paper.

Jack tells us he's happy to be with The Southern and that he's looking forward to working more closely with carriers. In coming to The Southern, Jack joins his wife Patty. She's The Southern's Circulation data clerk and a 15-year veteran of the paper. She works out of the regional office at Marion's Illinois Centre Mall.
